Cairns Historical Society

The library and research facility are open to members, the general public, students, professional researchers, authors and family historians. The library carries an extensive range of books (2000), journals, manuscripts and documents (15,000) relating to local history, Aboriginal and Islander studies, shipping, mining, wartime records, family history and other items of historical interest.
